Queensland Power Outages
Australia has no open live feed, so the quickest way to check Queensland is the official outage map from Energex, Essential Energy and Ergon Energy.
Energex serves about 1.6 million customers in the south-east and Ergon Energy about 761,000 across regional Queensland, and Essential Energy reaches parts of the south. Coal supplied 56.5 per cent of generation in 2025, gas 10.7 per cent and wind and solar 29.2 per cent. Cyclones and summer storms drive the largest outages: ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred in March 2025 cut power to more than 450,000 premises, which Energex called the most outages from a natural disaster in Queensland's history, and Tropical Cyclone Jasper hit about 40,000 customers in the far north in December 2023.
