PowerOutageTracker does not require an account and does not ask for personal information to use the map, search or data. Searches by place or ZIP code run in your browser against our public index or are sent to our server only to look up a county. We don't store them alongside any identifier.

If you choose Power outages near me, your browser asks for permission to share your approximate location. The coordinates, rounded to about 100 meters, are sent only to our own server to find your county. They are never stored, logged or shared.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use the site: pages viewed, approximate region, device type and referring sites. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and processes this data on Google's servers under Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

We don't sell personal information or use analytics data for advertising.

Third-party links

News headlines and source links take you to third-party websites, which have their own privacy policies. Map geometry and fonts are served from our own domain.
