Western Australia Power Outages

Australia has no open live feed, so the quickest way to check Western Australia is the official outage map from Western Power and Horizon Power.

Western Australia is not connected to the national grid. Western Power runs the South West Interconnected System, from Kalbarri to Albany and Kalgoorlie, which the state government calls one of the most isolated large grids in the world, and Horizon Power runs 38 separate regional networks. Gas supplied 57.4 per cent of generation in 2025 and coal 16.4 per cent. A heatwave over Christmas 2021 caused outages for about 107,000 Western Power connections, of which 26,091 were out for at least 12 hours.
