Biggest Pennsylvania power outages since 2014

Statewide outage events recorded by DOE's EAGLE-I system since late 2014, with likely causes from NOAA storm reports

The largest power outage in Pennsylvania since 2014 (Mar 2–9, 2018) left as many as 582,297 customers (9.48% of the state) without power at once, driven by a winter storm. The next largest (Apr 29 – May 5, 2025) peaked at 558,722 customers (Severe thunderstorms).

By EAGLE-I's count, Pennsylvania customers averaged about 6 hr 7 min without power per year from 2018 to 2025. The worst year was 2025, at 9 hr 47 min per customer.

Outages peak in March (15% of outage time). Outage time in Pennsylvania has held roughly steady recently: about 6 hr 20 min per customer per year in 2022–2025, versus 5 hr 54 min in 2018–2021.
