KwaZulu-Natal Load Shedding & Power Outages

South Africa has no open live feed, so the quickest way to check KwaZulu-Natal is the official outage page from Eskom, eThekwini Electricity and Msunduzi or another operator below.

KwaZulu-Natal is the last province with Eskom load reduction, according to Eskom's page in November 2026, with a monthly schedule published by block. eThekwini is the only metro we found with a public list of current area outages. Eskom lists its Drakensberg pumped storage scheme at Bergville and Ingula at Ladysmith. The April 2022 floods damaged power lines and substations, and floods in early 2026 affected tens of thousands of Eskom customers here and in Limpopo and Mpumalanga. SAWS's KwaZulu-Natal office warns most often of severe thunderstorms and damaging winds.

Eskom load shedding was suspended when we last reviewed it on 3 November 2026. Check today's status ↗
